BlueVOX-QFN
CSR's latest headset design sets a new high in battery life, combined with a new low in electronic bill-of-materials costs (eBOM). Offering talk times of up to 11 hours from a small lithium cell, the eBOM is less than $6 in production volumes!
This ground-breaking blend of performance and economy is not at the expense of quality. Call clarity and range is superb, with a MOS voice quality score of 3.7, thanks to CSR's innovative QFN-packaged Bluetooth silicon with its sophisticated 2.0+EDR radio, and eSCO support (which can eliminate annoying pops and clicks in difficult radio environments).
The design comes in a ready-to-use form. Use CSR's PCB design as it is, and the electronics element of your new headset product can be fixed within a few hours of receiving the development kit. This will not compromise your brand: the design is complete and interoperability tested - yet still highly software-configurable. User-configurable features include the functionality of button presses, LED flashing, pairing operation, etc.

BlueTunes2
CSR's latest ready-to-apply stereo headphone design is available with the BlueTunes2 stereo headset development kit (part no BTN-002-2A). It combines the function of a Bluetooth headset with stereo headphone capability for playing music, supporting both MP3 and the Bluetooth SIG's SBC compression coding/decoding scheme. BlueTunes2 is based on CSR's latest generation BlueCore5-Multimedia, featuring an on-chip open source Kalimba DSP. The powerful 64 MIPS DSP performs echo and noise suppression when acting as a Bluetooth headset (and additionally offers eSCO for QoS). A wide range of other product enhancing software features are available from 3rd parties through CSR's eXtension partner program.
The Bluecore5-Multimedia offers the highest level of integration with on-chip radio and baseband, stereo CODEC, DSP, battery charger and SMPS. This offers the lowest BOM count and cost, while further enhancing the performance and features from previous BlueCore generations. The development kit comes with a music and VoIP USB dongles for streaming over Bluetooth from a PC, as well as an analogue audio adaptor board for streaming music over Bluetooth from MP3 players and hi-fi systems. Along with CSR's BlueLab 3.6 software development suite and the CSR headset configurator tools (available separately) the BlueTunes2 development kit provides a very flexible and powerful development platform for designing advanced, high-quality, Bluetooth stereo and mono headsets based on the BlueCore5-Multimedia single chip Bluetooth audio solution.
A complementary technology to BlueTunes2 is the BlueCore Player MP3 solution, which allows you to stream audio wirelessly to stereo headphones.
