Ready-to-go stereo headphone solution
BlueTunes ROM - Integrating DSP and RISC processors, stereo CODEC, Bluetooth® radio and battery charger, the ROM based chip reduces the electronic BOM to the lowest in the market.
Advanced mono headset with echo/noise reduction
Echo/Noise Suppression - Single-chip solution with integral DSP and CODEC. Uses established interoperable headset software - plus CVC echo and Noise Suppression
Analogue audio dongle
Analogue Audio Dongle v1 - this low-cost design allows remote headphones/speakers to be linked wirelessly to a hi-fi or music player.
Echo/Noise Suppression
Advanced performance with CSR's CVC® software
USB-interfaced VoIP dongle
Voice Dongle - this USB dongle for PCs provides a Bluetooth® voice link to a mono headset, to support VoIP calls (no need to install PC software)

These two feature-rich solutions for mono Bluetooth headsets are pin compatible, making it easy to create a headset product range from a single platform design. QFN packaged devices are also pin compatible with the CSR's previous low cost solution, BlueVox2, making it possible to create upgraded headset products without requalification.

BC6130 extends the performance and cost effectiveness of CSR's market-leading BlueVox2, which introduced a feature-rich mono headset capability at lower price, and with smaller size, lower power consumption and enhanced audio quality. The new device adds Proximity Pairing, improved Multipoint support, and the ability to provide programmable audio prompts to help users.

BC6130 key features

RF performance

  • 7.5dBm transmit, -90dBm receive

Packaging

  • QFN 48-lead 7x7mm 0.5mm pitch
  • Pin compatible with BC6140 (QFN only)

BC6140 builds on BC6130's capaibility by adding a DSP core and CSR’s new single-microphone CVC 5.0 algorithm suite. The algorthms improve far-end echo and noise suppression, and introduce brand new near-end audio enhancements - plus packet loss and bit error concealment support for improving audio experience in noisy environments.

BC6140 key features

All BC6130 features plus single-microphone audio enhancement using fifth-generation CVC algorithms, including:

  • Near end signal processing
  • Packet loss and bit error concealment
  • Far end signal processing

Power consumption (incl. single-mic CVC)

  • 12.5mA HV3 packets, 10.9mA 2EV3 packets

RF performance

  • 7.5dBm transmit, -90dBm receive

Packaging

  • QFN 48-lead 7x7mm 0.5mm pitch, pin compatible with BlueVox2 and BC6130

BlueTunes ROM
BlueTunes ROM is a groundbreaking device that slashes the cost of building advanced Bluetooth stereo wireless headphones for music and audio applications. Integrating DSP and RISC processors, stereo CODEC, Bluetooth radio and battery charger - the ROM-based chip reduces the electronic bill of materials to the lowest in the market.

CSR's design provides a fast path to market for a highly-desirable accessory for mobile handsets and media players - opening up major growth opportunity for OEMs/ODMs. Application flexibility is also built in and the design supports:

  • SBC decoding, and optionally MP3* for improved audio quality
  • Configurable 5 band EQ to improve end-user experience
  • Portable video/TV applications by eliminating 'lip-sync' problems when wirelessly listening to sound tracks - thanks to CSR's FastStream CODEC
  • Seamless switching between wireless music playback and voice calls
  • High-end echo and noise reduction, allowing users to be heard clearly in noisy environments (single mic or optionally dual mic implementations)
  • Higher-quality Bluetooth headset connections via CSR's optional AuriStream CODEC
