A single-chip example design for a wireless MP3 player - BlueCore Player

Wireless connectivity is set to be the biggest differentiator in MP3 players in 2008. 

CSR's BlueCore Player offers OEMs and ODMs a radically new approach to music player design: a solution that is compatible with standard Bluetooth wireless stereo headphones, and implemented via a single-chip (replacing as many as six or more in some current designs)!

New ways of listening!

BlueCore Player allows manufacturers to refresh the MP3 market with a new generation of players supporting new usage scenarios:

• easier listening — wireless headphones are ideal for users on the move, and, for example, when exercising.
• compatibility with handsets — Bluetooth makes it possible to seamlessly switch from listening to music to taking a call from a handset.
• sharing music* — output from a player can be streamed to two or more headsets
• added-value DSP functions —  the design's built in DSP can optionally be used for 'hands-free' audible menu using text-to-speech navigation, and more!

Player manufacturers can quickly build on the functional possibilities in BlueCore Player to add value and differentiate their products. Development kit
