Upgrade path

ODMs who employ the BlueCore Player design will benefit from a stream of design enhancements that CSR is working on, to decrease the eBOM and improve the features of both MP3 player and stereo headphone designs. These will include:

ROM
BlueCore Player-based designs can take advantage of a ROM variant of BlueCore5-Multimedia  that will be introduced by CSR in 2008.

More CODECs
It will be possible to stream AAC, AAC+ and WMA formats directly.

File transfer capability
Users will be able to send files to other Bluetooth devices using the FTP Profile.

PC connectivity
Support for AV sink will allow BlueCore Players to receive music streamed from a PC.

Audio enhancement
Algorithms for 3D sound, echo and noise cancellation and other added value functions are available or being made available for the Kalimba DSP.

Writing to SD Cards
Read-only capability will be extended with write capability, plus support for the FAT32 file system.

Music sharing
Streaming to two headsets will be made available (the audio can be split into two streams and transmitted)
