Director of Regional Marketing

Job Purpose
The role holder creates and drives the regional marketing strategy for handset connectivity - managing all business development across a variety of customers (OEMs, ODMs, carriers and platforms). The role provides leadership on the customer, market, proposition development, competitor and brand positioning, using consumer, customer and industry insight to define the strategy and approach. Measures of success are: a) the ability to drive business growth in the handset sector in this region, beating agreed revenue and market share targets by taking responsibility and accountability for driving, tracking and reporting design wins, b) form unique and exemplary relationships with globally influential customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver revenue and margin expectations by defining and implementing marketing and relationship initiatives that achieve the company's targets covering:
- Responsibility and accountability for driving, tracking and reporting design wins
- New customer development
- Customer retention
- Maximising customer value through cross-selling and margin maximisation
- Create and take sole responsibility for the annual Marketing Plan for the region, in line with the global plan, including defining the required activities and associated budget, ensuring that all activities deliver a return on investment.
- Manage autonomously, on a day-to-day basis, the implementation of agreed marketing activity, covering all elements of the relationship management, product and company placement. To ensure that all agreed activity is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
- Chair and steer regular strategic objective setting meetings with local sales and other regional managers to ensure that regional activities and key customer strategies support the business unit’s growth and margin aspirations for the market. Develop processes to evaluate, review and improve the effectiveness of the activities and drive the results of these evaluations with the sales managers.
- Key responsibility for nurturing global relationships with senior executives in customer organisations with HQ in their region delivering a high level of customer insight. Have an excellent unequalled understanding of market size, customer needs and buying behaviour, competitor shares and activity and strategic positioning; using all these create and execute effective strategies for achieving competitive advantage and market share.
- Deliver in conjunction with the Product Manager, a programme of product developments that enhance the customer experience and customer value whilst ensuring product differentiation and competitiveness. Carry out direct product promotion and evangelism at customer sites.
- Key role in championing the needs of the regions in HQ to influence responsiveness and reactivity to changes in the market.
Person Spec
Required
- Educated to degree level in a marketing or business related subject
- Key specific experience and progression in a marketing function with the ability to comfortably interact with senior level executives
- Proven history of creating and executing effective marketing and customer relationship strategies translated into successful customer propositions and initiatives
- Evidence of existing high level relationships within relevant customers
- Highly influential individual, with experience of working successfully to exceed financial and business objectives
- Strong level of global industry knowledge
- Strong project management skills ensuring activities are delivered in full and on time with a high level of professionalism
- Highly literate with strong local and English language skills
- Highly numerate with budget management experience
- Ability to work without direct supervision and to generate and deliver key initiatives
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor products
Desired
- MBA or CIM qualification
- Experience with wireless connectivity technologies, namely:
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- GNSS
- NFC
