Ready-to-apply mono and stereo designs
CSR offers ready-to-apply headset and headphone solutions, with proven interoperable Bluetooth® headset application code. Users gain free access to the code and an example hardware design for evaluation by purchasing the appropriate Solution Development System. The kits give many user-configurable features (tools and support for custom headset designs are also available):
BlueVOX1 - for mono headsets. Everything needed to
create a state-of-the-art headset is included in BlueVOX1 Solution Development
System (BV-SDS-3A). If the reference design PCB (right) is
used as it is, the electronics design can be fixed within a few hours
of receiving the product. All without affecting the pre-existing
Bluetooth qualification. Highly interoperable, the latest v4 software
supports: EDR, eSCO, the Hands-Free 1.5 Profile, onchip wind noise reduction
filter; customer-specific ringtones; 3-way calling; sidetone generation;
and auto reconnect after link loss and power down. Based on BlueCore4-Headset,
(a programmed BlueCore4-Audio ROM) with integral CODEC, switch-mode power
supply, battery charger circuitry, and ROM.

BlueVOX1 CVC - for high-end mono headsets with CVC
(Clear Voice Capture software) performing echo and Noise Suppression.
All elements needed to create a headset with supreme audio quality is
included in the BCVC-SDS-1A Solution Development System.
Uses v4 Headset software (see above). Based on BlueCore3-Multimedia External
with integral CODEC and DSP.

BlueTunes2 - The BlueTunes2 development kit contains everything for rapid evaluation and development of Bluetooth stereo and mono audio applications. It is based on CSR's latest generation single chip Bluetooth audio solution: BlueCore5-Multimedia. The BlueCore5-Multimedia chip offers best in class performance with an integrated 64 MIPS DSP, audio CODEC, SMPS, battery charger and Bluetooth radio, thereby enabling advanced and ultra-compact stereo and mono headset solutions with less than 50 external components. Users can start evaluating straight away as the BlueTunes2 kit comes with stereo headset application software, including CVC echo and noise cancellation. A wide range of 3rd party software is available for the BlueCore5-Multimedia's open platform Kalimba DSP through CSR's eXtension software partner program. See www.csr.com/eXtension for details.

Custom headset/headphone designs
It is easy to produce custom headset design, by purchasing the appropriate
SDK (software development kit) for BlueCore devices, which allows you
to modify the source code (or create entirely new application software).
Hardware designs can also be changed easily, and users have the choice
of:
- BlueCore3-Audio Flash for mono headset designs. Requires the purchase of the BlueVOX1 Development Kit software - application code is written on the PC and then compiled and downloaded. The design may be converted to a ROM-based BlueCore if required.
- BlueCore3-Multimedia for mono headsets: this device with its integral DSP, is suitable for advanced mono headsets with features such as echo/Noise Suppression. Development requires the purchase of the Multimedia development kit (MM-MP-03) and BlueLab - application code is written on the PC and then compiled and downloaded.
- BlueCore3-Multimedia for stereo headphones: this device is also suitable for advanced stereo headphones with the onchip DSP performing file compression/decompression to transport stereo over Bluetooth. Application requires purchase of the Multimedia development kit (MM-MP-03) and BlueLab v3; this SDK supports multiple point connections (so that a headset can be playing MP3 music for example but can switch to a phone connection to accept a call).
