E5000 software GPS receiver

E5000 software provides high speed and high accuracy mobile positioning capability in an ideal form for integration into portable battery-powered products.

The GPS (global positioning system) software receiver provides a very short Time To First Fix (TTFF), enhanced tracking accuracy, and requires no further hardware beyond an RF front-end.

Compatible with a wide range of embedded CPUs, including the 3DLabs Multimedia processor, and the most popular PND (personal navigation device) platform, the Samsung 2440, this software allows developers to integrate GPS with minimal impact on PCB space and power consumption.

  Product architecture

E5000 replaces the conventional GPS baseband IC with software running on the embedded device's application processor or DSP. The software is compliant with most existing RF front-end chips supporting 1–4 bit sampling.
