An innovative PCB- and BOM-saving architecture

Integrating a stereo audio processor with Bluetooth, MusiCore1 is a single-chip solution that allows developers to eliminate the cost and space required for a separate audio CPU subsystem, as well as providing a platform for numerous added-value audio features such as echo and noise cancellation.  The incremental eBOM cost of this implementation approach is just $1 in volume, with no additional PCB space required compared to a standard Bluetooth subsystem!

MusiCore1 incorporates an open 24-bit DSP optimised for audio processing, and a very high quality stereo CODEC. Audio quality is superb: the CODEC has a hifi-quality signal-to-noise ratio of 95 dB.  The device is able to operate in numerous modes:

• As an audio processor, decoding/streaming digital music, to wired or wireless headphones
• Providing active echo and noise cancellation during voice calls to enhance quality
• As a standard Bluetooth channel (for connection to headsets etc)
• For audio enhancement, to support product differentiation and new multimedia applications (via the open DSP core)
