Claire Whatley turns pennies into pounds or, CSR Cambridge really like cakes!

In the month of July, Claire Whatley, Paralegal Assistant, set herself the difficult task of turning 10p into £1000. Claire’s inspiration came from a conversation with a friend over a ten pence piece on a pub table.  Claire (and friend) thought that a problem many people face is that they accept that what they have is all they can achieve. Claire thought that people had lost their hunger to do something better. So she did something about it and she took the 10p along to start her off.

Through a series of events and activities, Claire set about turning her 10p into £1000.   Her chosen charity to receive any monies raised was the St Nicholas Hospice Care. The CSR Cambridge office were more than happy to help by munching their way through a lot of home made cakes. It was a very tough job for us!

CSR were also happy to match-fund Claire on the monies she raised which meant that Claire was able to exceed her target.

Well done Claire and well done to everyone who sacrificed their waistline for charity!
