Release LibraryCambridge, UK - 13 February, 2002 - CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) today
announced that Roving Networks, the intelligent network appliance company, has
selected CSR’s BlueCore chipset for its BlueLine LAN access point which
delivers secure Bluetooth wireless connectivity for, enterprise networking,
industrial automation , retail commerce, as well as home networking applications
with its support for X10 technology.
Roving Networks’ BlueLine access point provides enhanced security for enterprise
applications and includes support for virtual private networks, PIN code intialised
security, firewall and a variety of authentication and authorisation features.
BlueLine access points are very compact (76 x 127mm) and are plug and play which
allows the unit to be set up within two minutes. The compact design of BlueLine
is made possible by the small footprint of CSR’s BlueCore technology.
The access points provide a variety of connectivity options including the built-in
LAN router and WAN gateway, and support for LAN access, serial port and generic
profiles is provided via the Bluetooth v1.1 qualified stack. Later this year,
the BlueLine access point will be available with support for both Bluetooth
and 802.11b wireless LAN.
