Release LibraryCambridge, UK – July 6, 2004 – CSR PLC (LSE: CSR.L), a leading provider of single-chip radio devices today announced the latest in its newly launched BlueCore4 family of Bluetooth silicon. BlueCore4-PC combines all the hardware and software to provide PC OEMs with a complete Bluetooth solution. BlueCore4-PC software and hardware solution is EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) ready, for a data rate of up to 3Mbps – three times faster than conventional Bluetooth.
CSR has teamed up with Bluetooth software specialists, IVT, to provide a complete Bluetooth solution for PC OEMs. As well as running at three times the speed of conventional Bluetooth, BlueCore4-PC includes a wide range of Bluetooth profiles particularly suitable for PC users, such as HID (Human Interface Device) for mouse and keyboard connectivity, auto pairing, AV and AV remote control profiles.
BlueCore4-PC's 3Mbps data rate means that users are more easily able to connect to multiple devices whilst also allowing advanced applications such as audio data streaming. For instance, with BlueCore4-PC, a user is able to listen to streaming audio via a stereo headset through a Bluetooth connection, whilst also using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse as well as wirelessly synchronising their PDA and PC and using a Bluetooth webcam.
