An internet radio tunes into the station via a Wi-Fi access point (such as a home access point, or a Wi-Fi hotspot). The user first connects to an internet radio portal, where a list of options is presented and the desired station may be chosen (the user interface supplied with the design will work with the vTuner portal).
Once a station is selected, a streaming audio connection is established.
(Connections to the auxiliary inputs of hifi systems or other equipment can be made by means of a cable connection from the radio's headphone socket.)
