Open API speeds integration

The RoadTunes design conforms to the new BECI guidelines (Bluetooth Embedded Control Interface ). BECI provides a standardised API (application programming interface) at a level above the Bluetooth Profiles. This allows programmers to develop application software without a detailed understanding of the underlying Bluetooth technology, and additionally reduces the load on the host processor to virtually zero - making it very easy to integrate. CSR expects this approach to dramatically simplify the incorporation of wireless connectivity in embedded and aftermarket automotive devices, and believes that RoadTunes can be integrated typically within six weeks.

In contrast to the traditional HCI architecture (where upper layers of the Bluetooth stack and Profiles reside on the host processor), BECI provides an API above the level of the Profiles.
